Vietnam sent 37,068 laborers to work abroad in the first half of this year, up 12.32 percent year-on- year, said a report of the Department of Overseas Labor Management on Monday.
The country sent 7,493 workers to foreign markets in June alone, an increase of 15.65 percent from a month earlier, said the department.
The department said Chinese Taiwan was the largest export market for Vietnamese laborers in the first six months this year with 12,939 people. The United Arab Emirates came second for receiving 4,416 Vietnamese laborers to work in the country.
Vietnam also sent 3,032 workers to work in Libya and another 2, 840 to Laos, according to the department.
The rest of Vietnamese laborers were sent to Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia and other markets, according to the department.
Vietnam targets to send 85,000 laborers to work overseas this year, up 13 percent year-on-year, said the department. |
